RYA Level 1 Introduction to Powerboating

This 1 day course provides a practical introduction to boat handling skills and is ideal for younger members of the boating family.

It includes:

Preparation - launching and recovering - safety equipment - pre-start checks - personal buoyancy

Boat handling and manoeuvres - starting and stopping - use of kill cord - steering controls - securing to a buoy - leaving and coming alongside - being towed

Theory and background - IRPCS - rope work - awareness of other water users
